Watch: Don't forget the SAVE Act...is John Thune compromised?

The Senate is back next week, so common sense would suggest they will pass the SAVE Act, since a majority of Americans, regardless of political affiliation, think that presenting an ID to vote is a good idea. But if you thought that, then you would be wrong. Todayβs show breaks it down.
βRight now, we effectively have nothing to deal with [election integrity],β Crowder said. βYou have Democrats who want you to forget about this, and RHINOβs who definitely want you to move on.β
The legislation would require proof of citizenship to register and photo ID to cast a ballot in elections. Those provisions would take effect immediately upon passage, potentially upending the 2026 midterm elections which will decide who controls the House and Senate.
βThe truth is, there is half of this country that does not want free and fair elections. And the same half want people who cross the border, geographically, to benefit from you, the American worker. So, it should start with voting. You eliminate that, there is a serious cascade effect.β
The worst part about this not passing is that it is extremely popular with the American people.
According to Pew Research, βMore than nine-in-ten Republicans (95%) and about seven-in-ten Democrats (71%) favor requiring all voters to show government-issued photo identification to vote.β
βThat is where you see the split with people who vote Democratic by default and their leadership. No Democrats in significant positions in leadership support voter ID,β Crowder said.
Besides the lie that voter ID is racist, the left has not been able to come up with a justifiable excuse as to why Americans don't deserve secure elections.
One of the most likely and simplest ways to get this passed is the talking filibuster, which would allow passing the bill with only 53 votes.
βWhen people say the left and the right are the same, I do not agree with that at all. But when you look at the halls of Congress, a lot of these Republicans are hard to differentiate. I don't know how we find ourselves at the point where we don't have enough Republicans to support voter ID,β Crowder said. βThe Democrats are not representing their voters.β
