Quentin Tarantino has zero patience for actresses' faux-outrage over racial slurs used in a movie over thirty years ago

The new way for woke entertainers to signal their virtue from the river to the sea is to have a struggle session over movies and TV shows they were in decades ago. Like feigning outrage over the "lack of diversity" in Friends, which last aired in 2004. Or wrestling with the problematic villain in 1991's The Silence of the Lambs, being a guy who claimed ot be a girl. Most recently, Rosana Arquette lashed out at Quentin Tarantino over the use of a certain n-word used in Pulp Fiction...over thirty years ago.
Unamused by this? Quenstin Tarantino.
Arquette had a part in 1994's Pulp Fiction, and in a recent interview, while acknowledging that on some levels the movie was ok, she's over the dialogue.
It’s iconic, a great film on a lot of levels. But personally I am over the use of the N-word — I hate it. I cannot stand that he [Tarantino] has been given a hall pass. It’s not art, it’s just racist and creepy.

Are you paying attention, other affluent white female urban liberals? Rosanna is one of the good ones! That's at least whose opinions her struggle session cares about. It's not my place to speak on behalf of the Black community (that's more of a white progressive thing), but you can sense a collective eyeroll from Rosie's comments.
Not rolling his eyes? Quentin Tarantino. He called out her comments for what they were.
I hope the publicity you’re getting from 132 different media outlets writing your name and printing your picture was worth disrespecting me and a film I remember quite clearly you were thrilled to be a part of? ... Do you feel this way now? Very possibly. But after I gave you a job, and you took the money, to trash it for what I suspect is very cynical reasons, shows a decided lack of class, no less honor. There is supposed to be an esprit de corps between artistic colleagues. But it would appear the objective was accomplished.

The funny thing is, it's been a while, but I don't remember excessive use of the word in Pulp Fiction. I DO remember the controversy from Jackie Brown, where Spike Lee made an issue with the word being used over a hundred times. My friend and I counted. It was impressive. Also, and this part is key, I'm fairly certain that 98% of the n-word used in either movie was by Samuel L. Jackson.
The thing with Rosie's struggle session is that it appears to be unprompted. The way it usually works is a leftist journalismer who spends too much time on Reddit and Bluesky expects the celebrity they are interviewing to validate their worldview. Or at least give them engagement bait. They'll ask for the actor or actress to denounce something that wasn't denounceble decades earlier.
Without seeing the transcript of the interview, Arquette appears to have volunteered her thirty-year-old denouement on her own. To Tarantino's point, when was the last time you heard the words "Rosanna Arquette" uttered?
