I can already hear people crying, "Who cares about California?" and that "no one cares about Commiefornia." Well, YOU should care about California, because where do you think the commies in your state and nationally learn all their commie tricks from? Everything that is happening in the "moderate" state of Virginia? They learned from watching California.

There's also a good chance there are more Republicans living in California (and New York) than where you live. They're just outnumbered by all the low-information urbanites who are manipulated by social issues to vote against their self-interests, living on top of each other in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

So California matters, which is why I wanted to highlight the answer from Republican gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton. There was a debate last night where Hilton was tee'd up to denounce Trump endorsing him because of the 62% of Californians who disapprove of him.

The smart, consultant-driven political play would be to throw Trump under the bus to try to juice an extra few percentage points out of the polls. Instead, Hilton told a story of how he first became an American citizen (he's a Brit) at a ceremony in CA, and how he found it a deep honor to be endorsed by the president of the United States.

And he’s the thing that’s going to help every Californian when I’m governor, is that we will have a constructive relationship and partnership with the federal government, which would be the case, I would hope for any party in that situation so that we can make things better in California.

Work WITH the president and his administration to manage our forests better, to harvest the timber so we can build the single-family homes we need for young families. To work to increase California energy production as he wants to do so we can lower gas prices, to fight the fraud in our government so we can cut spending and cut taxes, to work to enforce our immigration laws.

In all these areas and more it will benefit every Californian to have a governor who is a partner on these issues with the president and his team.

California working against the president isn't working for Californians. Hey, maybe voters should consider a governor who will work WITH the White House? It's a bold move, and it might just work.

And I'm not naive. A Republican running for governor in California is still a long shot. Even with the state's cacamaime jungle primary rules. But when you consider we have Republicans in Congress who find new and exciting ways to sell out the people who sent them to DC, a candidate boldy wearing his Trump support in a state like California is refreshing.
