The singer Sammy Hagar predicted 'The great divide' would happen in 50 years back in 1977: pic.twitter.com/Q4o47jigVH

You would think with a technology that can create a convincing video of the time your dad beat Mike Tyson for the world title, someone at the X-Twitters can write a script that when a celebrity over a certain age suddenly starts trending, it includes the phrase, "No, they aren't dead." Because I'm not ready to live in a world without Sammy Hagar. I'm also one of those rare moderate squish rock RINOs who like him and David Lee Roth equally.

No, thankfully, Sammy is still with us and is no doubt on a beach somewhere gargling Santo Tequila. The reason he's trending is because of a woman who was driving around listening to FM rock radio (as some of us old heads are known to do) when they played a Sammy deep cut, 1977's "A Crack in the World."
She thought the lyrics were a bit prophetic.
Just fifty more years, we're all gonna know
Why, when, where, how, and who gets to go
So let's all have a good time before the great divide
'Cause things will start separating come 2025
So look for the subtle clues
It won't make the front-page news
That depends upon which side that you choose

2025 is VERY specific. And, lyrically, it's a Rorschach test where you can apply your own worldview to.
Personally speaking, on behalf of my worldview and that of everyone at the Louder with Crowder Dot Com website, the subtle clues that don't make the frontpage news is *waves hands* all of the front page news. We're separating because one side thinks we should enforce immigration laws, and the other side -- the side that controls most of the front page news -- doesn't and knows if they lie, they can count on most of the media to swear by it.
The same applies to every other issue causing a great divide. It just so happens that, in the specific year of 2025, common-sense illegal-immigration reform and the propaganda against it are at the forefront.
However, to quote the great Glenn Frey, it was the 70s, and drugs were everywhere. Sammy could have been singing about aliens, and the song is similar to Back to the Future Part 2 taking place in 2015. It's been ten years, and I'm still waiting for my hoverboard and self-drying clothes.
If Sammy finds out he's trending, I'm sure he'll take more of a "everyone love one another" approach.
Apropos of nothing, and just because I have you here, these are the Van Hagar Power Rankings:
- "5150"
- "Don't Tell Me What Love Can Do"
- "Love Walks In"
- "Poundcake"
- "Dreams:"
