Fans erupted with “USA” chants as President Trump arrived at the Ryder Cup in Nassau County, New York.

This is great to see, and not surprising, since he is genuinely popular with the people. When was the last time a sitting Democratic official was cheered like this? Surely it wasn’t yesterday, when Kathy Hochul was effectively booed into oblivion.

LOL. Also unsurprising, considering she’s a total buffoon and could never match the popularity Trump has, even if her life depended on it.

Per a statement from the White House:

Today, I look forward to joining thousands of fans on Long Island, New York, to root for Team USA as we begin our epic duel with Team Europe for the 45th Ryder Cup.

As one of the greatest rivalries in the history of sports, the Ryder Cup is golf’s ultimate team event. Golf instills self-reliance and personal accountability on and off the course. Championship golf requires tremendous skill, determination, and focus—but at the Ryder Cup, it is patriotism, teamwork, and camaraderie that inspire the players to greatness. From the fiery chants of “U-S-A” to the giants of the game leading each team, the Ryder Cup is one of the most unique scenes in sports—and this year’s matches will be truly legendary.

Trump is correct when he says, "At the Ryder Cup, it is patriotism, teamwork, and camaraderie that inspire the players to greatness." And there were most definitely "the fiery chants of 'U-S-A'"—not only to cheer on the players but also to show appreciation for the President. This is so much better than when sports teams used to take a knee during the national anthem, as there was nothing more pathetic and disgraceful than that. Slowly but surely, this country will make sports great once again.
