For many people in America, the history of feminism and women’s liberation only goes back to around the 1960’s with Betty Friedan and bra-burnings. Or, perhaps more accurately, with the development and distribution of a hormone-based birth control that became known as “The Pill.”

But feminism and the women’s lib movement go back much further and are tied hand-in-cloven-hand with the occult.

In Occult Feminism: The Secret History of Women’s Liberation, Rachel Wilson explores those ties. Not only have these two been inextricably linked, the professors of women’s studies and gender studies refuse to acknowledge feminist heroes pursuing witchcraft, lesbianism and even Satanic influence. Almost every prominent feminist does some time in India, studying goddess-worshipping pagan religions. It’s good to know that we are, prayed, and loved our way to the destruction of Western civilization.

Beginning with the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox split, the venomous creep of feminism begins to ooze into Western civilization. It advances with every split, every new denomination. It’s not a coincidence. Feminism is not just an anti-religious movement; it’s a specifically anti-Christian movement. Prominent members of the feminist movement were members of Theosophy. And they aren’t even trying to hide it. Helena Blavatsky, co-founder of the Thesophical Society, and Mabel Collins published a monthly journal called Lucifer. Most of the women’s rights activists did their time as theosophists, wanting to unite all religions into one and claiming that Satan really wasn’t that bad; he was just misunderstood. Theosophists also didn’t believe in distinction between genders, an issue that began to cause friction in the movement.

Helena Blavatsky, Susan B. Anthony, Margaret Sanger, Betty Friedan, Annie Besant and many more prominent feminists are featured.

Wilson follows the money, showing us that it was never the grassroots issue that most American history teachers have led us to believe and exposing many of these women as spiritual hucksters. And, perhaps worse, their ties to socialism.

Occult Feminism is short, but well researched. Each chapter could be spun off into its own book with the amount of information that was left out of the history books. From fraudsters and con artists to witches and Satan worshippers, feminism is a practice that seeks to destroy society.

And it just might.
