Cristina Mittermeier is a Mexican climate activist. She just told an audience to pick 10 random ocean organizations and donate generously, with zero questions asked. Her justification for this is that humanity depends on it. But if this were true, why is it not true?

Question: How much more money do we need to spend to get us out of this invisible mess? For a problem that cannot be observed with the five senses, it sure is expensive to fix!

Additionally, why does it seem like the more money society spends on this so-called problem, the worse the left claims it gets?

Per the YouTube description for the event upload, “It’s a special evening at Shedd Aquarium. Climate conversations often focus on what is at risk, but this general assembly invites a different starting point: what we stand to gain, and what becomes possible when we see our world through fresh eyes.” At the July 31 event. Cristina Mittermeier made “the case for why our ocean remains our most powerful—and most overlooked—ally in the fight for a thriving planet.”

Mittermeier claimed that American philanthropy dollars rarely make their way to help the ocean. She believes donating your hard-earned cash to help the dolphins will save humanity. You are free to draw your own conclusions, but as far as I am concerned, this is a load of nonsense. And this is not to say we should not treat our oceans better or that dolphins are not God’s creatures that should be treated with the utmost respect. But this is not what the left is asking of you. They are promoting a fear-mongering culture that turns a nonexistent problem into an existential threat that causes more harm than good. It has gotten so bad that they have given an entire generation “climate anxiety.” That is far from compassion.

According to a 2023 report from the NOAA:

Today, the Department of Commerce and NOAA announced next steps to conserve and recover endangered North Atlantic right whales with $82 million in funding from the Inflation Reduction Act — the largest climate and conservation investment in history. This announcement comes during Climate Week and is part of the $2.6 billion framework to invest in coastal resilience that NOAA announced earlier this year.

North Atlantic right whales are approaching extinction with fewer than 350 individuals remaining, including fewer than 70 reproductively active females. Today’s funding provides an unprecedented opportunity to address the primary threats to the species — entanglements in fishing gear and vessel strikes — with new technologies and approaches.

Weird how we have spent all this money and yet, the whales still need saving. Why do you think that is? Again, draw your own conclusions.
