Someone should really inform María Elvira Salazar that her job is to represent the American people. Nowhere in her job description does it mandate that she represent foreign nationals who have broken federal immigration laws. Glad we cleared that up.
According to Salazar, “The same Hispanics who helped Trump get to the White House in 2024 feel betrayed today.” This statement is bizarre because, in the same breath, she advocates on behalf of illegal immigrants who have broken federal immigration laws. Those people can't vote. This means her statement would only make sense if illegals were voting, which they are not, and certainly not for Trump. Can anyone make it make sense?

According to CNN:
Salazar points to statistics she said show that 50% of the people detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement in July “had no criminal record.”
“Be careful what your advisers are telling you about immigration policy,” she said. “The same Hispanics who helped you get to the White House in 2024, feel betrayed today.”
An animated Salazar says she’s not asking Trump to give “amnesty” but she is asking him to give immigrants a “dignified life in this promised land.”
Is she really this stupid? Does she truly think this is a winning campaign strategy? Firstly, the way she words this pathetic campaign video appears to be intentionally vague. It is either she is talking about immigrants, or she is talking about illegal aliens. The former does not care about any of this, as they followed the law and have nothing to worry about. The latter has everything to worry about because they broke those laws. For there to be outrage over the enforcement of federal laws, you would have to be illegal. Did you need any more evidence that this woman is not fighting for you?
Additionally, is the fact that 50% of those detained did not have a criminal record supposed to be a good thing? The fact that half of them do is extremely troubling. This means we can conclude that at least half of them are not upstanding illegal citizens. What are we doing here?
Additionally, what in tarnation is this so-called "promised land" for illegal immigrants? Because I just checked every American document in existence, and nowhere was land promised.
Salazar pretending to be a Republican while pulling a little stunt like this is disingenuous. Maybe one day she will fight for the people of Florida as she does for illegal immigrants, but until then, this is the best she has got. How pathetic.
