I'm still not convinced Congressman Shri Thanedar is a real person. Apparently neither were democrats in the MI-13 because he lost his primary. But if we asked AI to generate a congressman who embodied every stereotype of a certain ethnicity for us to dunk on, even AI wouldn't get the hair just right.

As Thanedar is about to leave politics, he's leaving us with a parting gift. It's a tweet about walls that should have stayed in drafts.

The journey begins with this tweet from the House GOP to draw attention to the dangers of Communism.

I admit, at first glance, it's odd for a GOP organization to use a wall as a pejorative. We love walls. We've been talking about bigger and better walls for generations. Trump campaigned on walls. Walls are kinda our thing.

Then you take a second glance, and you understand what the post is saying. They aren't talking about walls in the physical sense. It's more of an analogy. Once you let communism in, you are never allowed to escape communism.

It's like the Hotel California minus the two-minute guitar solos.

Shri did not take that second glance and really thought he nailed Trump with a zinger.

Aww dude.

Did he not realize the issue is not the existence of a wall or the concept of a wall, but how it's used? Let me help.

Walls that the government uses to keep people you don't want in out? Good walls. We like those walls. Those walls are awesome.

Walls that the government uses to keep you from escaping so that the government can continue stealing your money and your labor and your freedom? Those are bad walls. We don't like those walls. Swipe left on those walls. 0/10 would not recommend.
