Toronto police officers let the suspect in a violent home invasion walk away, despite the evidence telling them that this was not in the best interest of public safety. They have since doubled down on that decision, despite it being deeply foolish.
💥REPORT: Toronto Police Chief Myron Demkiw defends his incompetent investigators who interviewed the Bridal Path shooting suspect in his hospital bed — then let him walk, because they had "no evidence" he'd been shot at the scene.Shouldn't a bullet wound count as evidence? https://t.co/GOecOHaee3

Let us get this straight. This man showed up to the hospital with a gunshot wound. Officers determined at that time that “there was no information that suggested to investigators an assailant had been shot.” It is unclear how they can be this incompetent.
According to The Daily Mail:
Police Chief Myron Demkiw assured residents on Monday that 'there's been no failure' in the investigation following the attack, after suspect Daijohn Richards, 23, visited a hospital with a gunshot wound shortly after the incident but wasn't arrested.
The fact that officials continue to turn a blind eye to public safety should deliver more outrage for our Canadian neighbors. And their refusal to acknowledge this as a “failure” proves that these are not serious people. To call this unacceptable would be putting it lightly.
Police responded to a violent incident unfolding at a lavish residence near Hyde Park Circle and Post Road on Thursday, when three suspects, armed with handguns and a hammer, forced their way into the multi-million dollar home.

They could have prevented this, but these people are too incompetent to function. Whatever policy this is, let us hope it never finds its way to America. What a total disgrace.
