Massachusetts taxpayers are now paying for a "Heat Officer" whose job it is to study the impact of heat. No, really.

It is summer. This means that we get this little thing called “heat.” At one point in history, this was considered a natural phenomenon. However, the left now believes this means the climate is changing. And while the climate has always changed, as that is what it does, it now means we are headed into an apocalypse. This is why Massachusetts has appointed its first-ever heat officer.
BREAKING: MA Governor Maura Healey just announced a new $90,000 government position
It’s to help crack down on skyrocketing crime
Jk…
It’s a “heat officer.”
Her job is to reduce the impact of heat
I’m not kidding

Governor Maura Healey announced the appointment of Katie Schlick as Massachusetts’ first statewide Heat Resilience Officer.
Massachusetts is the second state in the nation to establish a statewide position dedicated to extreme heat. In this role, Schlick will lead coordination across state governments and work with local communities to prepare for rising temperatures, protect public health, and reduce the impacts of heat waves. The position is funded through support from The Boston Foundation.
Someone should really inform these people that this little thing called Air Conditioning has been invented. This will do far more to "prepare for rising temperatures, protect public health, and reduce the impacts of heat waves.” What can this woman do that modern technology cannot? She does not predict or control the weather, nor does she control people's AC. I am having trouble understanding how this position will do anything to stop the climate from changing.
“This summer was another reminder that climate change is making extreme heat more common across Massachusetts,” said Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Rebecca Tepper. “We need to adapt just as quickly. The new Heat Resilience Officer will help us build on the important work already underway across the state. Katie will be looking out for workers, seniors, students and neighborhoods with extreme temperatures.”
Again, summer has always been hot. This is not some massive leftist discovery that is worthy of a new government position. But sure, let them go off and waste money on more bureaucracy and fewer results. Oh, these people are so pathetic.
