I'm going to take the next year off. I'm going to be working with this organization as a part of Represent.US... trying to get young people engaged politically on a local level.

It doesn't have anything to do with partisan politics. It's just anti-corruption and stuff trying to pass state by state laws that can help prevent corruption, fix our democracy.

If Jen is keen on taking a gap year from acting to play civics, then bully for her. X-Men: Dark Phoenix is in post-production, so she can take as much time off as she wants. On the surface, speaking out against corruption is noble and important.

I've yet to see celebrities do anything that isn't partisan. Tinseltown players of pretend exposed themselves as bitter leftist doucheburritos many moons ago. It's doubtful J-Law is going to convince anyone of her "objectivity." No matter how many of those gilded Oscar statuettes "Jenny of the people" has in her multimillion-dollar mansion.

If Jennifer Lawrence wants to reach the youth, all she has to do is retweet those talking points the DNC sends her publicist. Like a normal celebrity. Declaring herself "savior of American democracy" and recording a couple thinly-veiled "vote Democrat" PSAs, instead of doing another picture, won't have any greater effect. Besides, after the year-and-a-half tidal wave of anti-Trump celebrity butthurt, we've already turned our attention elsewhere.
