According to Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, a typical teaching day would include kids falling out of windows. But don’t worry, because they always catch the students.
It’s unclear exactly why kids were falling out of windows, but according to him, this is an everyday occurrence that most people in the city would never even know was going on.
Now, I am no education expert, but one would assume if this was happening every day, they would, well, I don't know, lock the windows?! Did no one think of that?
I just checked the entirety of the interweb, and I did find one instance in which a student fell out of a window in 2014.
According to ABC 7, “A Chicago student is recovering after falling from the window of a school on the city's South Side.” That is the only story I could find, but Johnson claims this was going on every day. For some reason, I find that hard to believe.
Even if what he is saying is true, which I wouldn't doubt for a second, it's not; that shows how incompetent these educational leaders are. Why they couldn't child-proof the windows if it was that much of an issue is beyond reason. And the fact that he tried to make this a problem about equity is deeply pathetic.
Can you believe Chicago elected a mayor who claimed to be catching students falling out of windows? Did he think this story would make him look any better off? Because it only made him look that much more of an imbecile. Either he is lying, and that’s bad enough, or he truly worked at a school where no one thought to lock the windows. You can draw your own conclusions.
