High School Counselor Writes Kids' Book Advocating Cutting Off Family Members Who Do Not Affirm LGBT Identities

Mads Bourdon is a high school counselor in Oregon. She believes in this concept called a “chosen family” and wrote a kids' book dedicated to the idea that “your chosen family can include anyone who loves and supports you for who you are.” And to claim society used to warn kids about people like this would be an understatement.
Meet Oregon High school counselor Mads Bourdon.
She wrote a kid’s book about “chosen family” which tells kids they can cut off their parents and find a new family if their parents aren’t “accepting” of their gender identity.

The premise is simple: When parents and family members do not affirm the LGBT identities kids claim to be, there is no family at all. Subsequently, these children, according to Bourdon, should find a “chosen family” where people will affirm their confusions. And claiming this is extremely inappropriate would not even begin to describe this insanity.
“Biological families are not always the people that are family in the ways that matter.”
Per her about me, Bourdon is a “Portland-based educator and activist dedicated to supporting the well-being of youth through inclusive spaces, mentorship, and empowerment, to aid in the development of a healthy sense of belonging for all kids. She is all about community, human connection, and being so authentically herself that others feel safe and empowered to do the same.” While this sounds good on paper, this could not be more deranged if she tried. While it sounds like she is in this fight, whatever this fight is, to defend all children, what she really is doing is prompting a deranged ideology onto malleable brains, and that puts hers on “the wrong side of history.”
The fact that this country has high school counselors who advocate for cutting off family members because they won't “affirm” ambiguous identities is a scandal that should be fully condemned. Portland educators, however, believe that this makes them compassionate. It is totally deranged, to say the very least.
