A man selling shirts said he loved Socialism and hated Capitalism. Turns out he doesn't understand either economic system and defended Capitalism more than he rejected it.

This is the problem. Leftist voters think they are all in for a Socialist utopia when in reality, they have no clue what they are truly defending. He claimed that under the current economic system, the rich get richer, while the poor get poorer. And while it is correct that rich people can become wealthier and poor people can become worse off, the reverse is also true. Only in America can you be born homeless and then become a millionaire. That is never the case under Socialism. Would he rather everyone remain equally poor? Because that is essentially what the system he defends results in.

Additionally, why is it so bad if rich people become richer? I bet if he were rich, he would have no problem becoming wealthier. The math only seems to be a problem for envious individuals. Not saying he is a jealous fool, but if the shoe fits, it fits.

The most comical part, though, was when he claimed he works for himself and thus, he controls the market. That is why he decides how much a shirt costs. The problem with this is that that is not how things ever work under communist rule. Is he really that naive?

That being said, while we can laugh that this man has no understanding of how any economic system works, this is a problem. Socialists rely on ignorant people just like him to carry out their communist utopia. And while free things sound good on paper, nothing is ever as good as it seems. Let’s just hope he realizes that before the next election.
