There was some drama in the basketball world. WNBA star A'ja Wilson took issue with how much cha-ching Lebron James is taking home from the L.A. Lakers. Even though Lebron will never be as good as Michael Jordan.

This may surprise people, but NBA players get paid more than WNBA players. It's not because only lesbians watch the WNBA. A demographic much smaller than Hollywood sells us. Obviously, it's patriarchy.

Or, as Clay Travis points out (see Clay Travis Points Out Media Hypocrisy on Visiting the White House and Clay Travis of “In Boobs we Trust” Nails ESPN for Clear Leftist Bias) it's more to do with math. Maybe angry lesbians aren't good with math.

Travis says the massive wage discrepancy has nothing to do with who works harder or who loves and respects the game more, it simply comes down to which league has the profits to actually pay its players lucrative contracts. And with the NBA making a yearly revenue nearly 300x larger than the WNBA, Travis wonders why A’ja Wilson doesn't understand how the league making $7.4 billion a year can succeed in rewarding its players, while the league making only $25 million can't.

A league people want to watch can pay its athletes more than a league people don't want to watch. This isn't about fairness. It's not about feelings. It's simple dollars and sense. If you don't have the dollars, it doesn't make sense to dole them out. I know that's confusing for people in Congress.

When are people going to figure out people don't get paid to be fair? You get paid based on worth. Based on how much others are willing to pay. Until the WNBA can bring in the same audiences as the NBA, this is a screeching point. Advice to the WNBA: don't suck.
