Q: “How are you getting the $700M to make the buses free if the Governor is not for raising taxes?”
MAMDANI: “Through the raising of the state's corporate tax.”
Q: “But she said no…”
MAMDANI: “The most important fact is that we fund it, not the question of how we do it.” pic.twitter.com/S1oDJj0W7Y

The Zohran is meeting with President Donald Trump today. It's not until 3:00 this afternoon, and I'll be well into the bourbon by then, but I'm sure the content that comes from the meeting will be delightful if you ignore the fact that the incoming mayor of the most important city on the planet is a commie theater kid. My gut says he gets Zelenskyy'd as he attempts to lecture Trump on international law and how there will be no more deportations under The Zohran's eye.
I hope they discuss economics, because The Zohran gave a clue on how he is going to get money for his free buses in New York City. All it will take is for them to raise taxes on everyone else in New York STATE so that he gets the cash.

THE ZOHRAN: Through the raising of the state's corporate tax.”
REPORTER: But she said no…
THE ZOHRAN: The most important fact is that we fund it, not the question of how we do it.

He wants to raise corporate taxes all throughout New York STATE so that he can give the low-information urbanites who voted for him -- which, because of NYC's notoriously low voter turnout, means the 50% of the under 30% of eligible voters who voted in the primary -- free stuff.
The Zohran's masterplan is that because New Jersey has an 11.5% corporate tax and New York's is only 7.3%, we should RAISE IT to match New Jersey's.
Buckle up NYC! We tried to tell you nothing is free….

Typically, states will lower their corporate tax to compete with neighboring states. The Zohran wants to make things MORE EXPENSIVE to do business in New York STATE. The entire state, not just the five boroughs he has been put in charge of. Hopefully, eventually just four if Staten Island secedes.
High corporate taxes means higher prices and less jobs. But as The Zohran says, none of that matters as long as he gets his money.
Where things get interesting is with next year's gubernatorial election. Does The Zohran's communist...I'm sorry, "democrat socialist"...friends run a primary against Kathy Hochul to get someone who WILL raise taxes on everyone? Or do they strike a deal, hope Hochul wins, then have her announce the tax hike two days after election day?
Congresswoman Elise Stefanik should send The Zohran a muffin basket. As she runs for Governor next year, I'm sure she'll enjoy pointing out to voters from Long Island, the Hudson Valley, the Southern Tier, and the rest of Upstate America how Democrats want to raise all of THEIR taxes to help NYC.
