SENTENCED TO THREE LIFE TERMS: WHY WAS SERIAL CHILD MOLESTER DAVID FUNSTON GRANTED EARLY RELEASE?
The people of Sacramento, and every parent across California, deserve answers.

“You became the monster parents fear the most.” This is what a California judge said to the man who had been convicted of 16 counts of kidnapping and child molestation. He was sentenced to three life sentences. The story should have ended here, but it does not because officials in the state spend much of their day protecting criminals, while jeopardizing public safety, all while condoning and downplaying the sickest crimes in existence.
Sacramento County Sheriff Jim Cooper has called out the state parole board over its decision to grant parole to the serial child rapist for the 1995 attacks in Sacramento County.
According to the Sacramento Bee:
David Allen Funston cruised Sacramento-area streets during a 1995 crime spree, luring children into his car with toys, dolls and sweets. The North Highlands man, 34 at the time of his attacks, then raped and beat them in his vehicle and at a home before dumping them along capital region roadsides.
The man is being granted elderly parole. According to Cal Matters, the elderly parole program “allows for people to meet with the California Board of Parole if they are 50 or older and have been incarcerated for at least 20 years.”
This program is bizarre because last time I checked, a sentence was a sentence. There is a reason we have the saying, “If you don't have the time, don't commit the crime.” Society relies on holding people accountable for their crimes, especially when those crimes are against children.
We have a duty to punish those who break these moral codes, and it’s asinine that just because someone has completed at least 20 years of THREE life sentences, they somehow get a pass. This makes life sentences meaningless, and last time I checked, age does not contradict the crime committed at an earlier time.
The logic is not very logical with this one, and it is a slap in the face to crime victims everywhere.
Someone should really inform the left that just because you are a certain age, that does not mean your crimes should be forgotten. Why do these people try so hard to get child rapists out of prison, while they should be doing everything in their power to keep them locked up for the entirety?
“He lured them with candy and Barbie dolls. He stole their childhoods. I’ve seen the reports. They’re horrific. To let him out? It doesn’t make sense,” Cooper said at a news conference Monday at the Sheriff’s Office headquarters in Old Foothill Farms. “The things he did to these kids cannot be undone. Victims come first, especially children. I’m pissed.”
This should not be controversial, and it is disgusting, deranged, immoral, and a whole bunch more adjectives to even give this man the opportunity to apply for parole.
Cooper, a former state assemblyman, also blasted lawmakers for failing, in his words, to enact legislation to better protect California children from sex predators.
“Protect our children,” Cooper said. “Where’s the compassion for victims? We have to stand up and fight for our kids.”
The left does not protect children. In fact, much of their deranged social experiments jeopardize and harm kids the most. This is why more often than not, the left is on the wrong side of history. In their pursuit, the moral imperative is to release people from jails solely because they hate prisons. In reality’s moral pursuit, this guy would never have been given that opportunity in the first place.
According to Bill Melugin, “California Gov. Gavin Newsom has the power to reverse the Parole Board’s decision.”
Absolute insanity, but par for the course for California.
A serial child molester who used toys & candy to lure & victimize kids as young as four & who was sentenced to three life terms was granted parole & early release by the CA Parole Board today, despite a judge previously… https://t.co/VhHR0m8BfF

It’s unclear if the Governor will do the right thing — but since he seems more focused on his pathetic podcast tour than fixing the mess he created in his state before he leaves office — it’s best to assume he will — in fact — not.
