While it is not unheard of to witness naked zombies on the streets of Los Angeles, as drug addiction and degeneracy have become de facto legal, it is bizarre to see a crowd of nude bikers casually strolling the streets of the city. This may or may not be why one man decided to shoot a couple of naked bikers with a BB gun.

A man was arrested after shooting bikers with a BB gun during the World Naked Bike Ride in Los Angeles on Saturday. It is unclear why bikers were allowed to ride nude, as this would be considered a crime any other day, but we are not here to blame the victims.

Per the New York Post:

A tattooed gunman used a BB gun to open fire on a crowd gathered for the World Naked Bike Ride in Los Angeles on Saturday, injuring two before being arrested, police and witnesses said.

The frightening incident unfolded around 11 a.m. in a parking lot at Temple and Alameda streets, where a large group had assembled for the annual ride, the LAPD said.

Authorities said the suspect fired into the crowd, striking at least two people.

While it is great that the suspect was held accountable for his actions and no one was severely injured, it still begs the question: Why on earth were there naked bikers taking over the streets of Los Angeles?

It turns out that because the organization labeled this as a protest against cars, there is a legal gray area.

The World Naked Bike Ride, which takes place in cities around the globe, occupies a legal gray zone around public nudity.

The ride operates under guidelines that prohibit lewd or sexually explicit exposure, and is a framed protest against car culture and an exercise in public expression.

Protesting “care culture” in Los Angeles is pretty pathetic, as most people don’t have the luxury of living within walking distance to meet their needs. But again, the "protesters" are the victims in this story, so that is neither here nor there. That being said, I think it is time the city bans nude bike tours, as they are clearly a threat to public safety.
