Abdul El-Sayed is under fire after allegations have resurfaced, accusing Detroit of running a "dog slaughterhouse,” while he was the Detroit health director.

Where are the vegans when you need them? This is unacceptable. The man could not even run an animal shelter without the operation neglecting and killing innocent dogs and cats. What makes him think he is competent enough to serve in the Senate?

Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed is facing renewed scrutiny over his tenure as Detroit health director, during which Detroit's animal control department was beset by allegations of animal mistreatment and reportedly branded a "dog slaughterhouse" by a former employee.

While he was in charge, the animal shelter killed over 4,600 dogs and cats.

The Daily Mail reported that records covering the period surrounding El-Sayed’s tenure showed 4,680 dogs and cats were euthanized, with 1,056 dogs and 29 cats getting euthanized in the first full calendar year DACC was under El-Sayed’s Health Department.

Former staff have stated that the circumstances were so horrifying, they would check every morning just to see how many animals survived and how many died because of the neglectful and unacceptable conditions.

"I was almost embarrassed with myself to be part of a team that played a role in the death of so many dogs in their cages," Roberts said in 2015 as she accused the agency of neglect and mistreatment, according to The Daily Mail. "Every morning, we’d just walk around and see who was alive before we could even feed."

He oversaw the animal shelter when it turned into a third-world-style operation. Imagine the amount of damage he would help cause if elected?

There should be greater outrage over this. It is totally infuriating, and the fact that the left gives him a pass is a scandal in itself. The dogs and cats deserved far better than this. What a disgrace.
