Municipal government is typically viewed as nonpartisan. Additionally, its purpose is to serve the American people -- not foreign nationals. This is what makes it bizarre that the City of Boston has a program to train immigrants in leftist causes, but bars American citizens from applying, despite them being the ones to fund such a nonsensical program. Can anyone make it make sense?

It is unclear how this is legal.

Per New Bedford Guide:

Boston pays selected immigrant residents $575 to finish a 10-week civic-engagement and community-organizing course. Native-born Bostonians cannot apply. The city invites applicants “regardless of their immigration status.”

They even pay them over $50 for such an anti-American program. You really cannot make this level of absurdity up.
It began in 2020 under Marty Walsh and continues under Michelle Wu. Participants must be Boston residents, immigrants, 18 or older, and proficient in English, Spanish, or Haitian Creole. The $575 scholarship is paid only after completion.

Classes cover organizing, public narrative, city government, immigration history, racism, and equity. For 2026 the partner is the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA), which also presses to limit ICE cooperation and fund deportation-defense lawyers.

The fact that the program covers racism and equity tells you all you need to know, which is that this is nothing more than a progressive program intended to undermine the American political system. For foreign nationals to care about equity would, by definition, assume they are victims. The problem with that is that they were never given the right to take advantage of the opportunities and privileges this country offers. That is what makes it all the more infuriating, especially since taxpayers fund it.

Additionally, there are so many Americans who could use an extra $600, but because they are citizens, they cannot apply for this asinine program, not that it should exist in the first place. That also screams volumes as to who these people intend to represent, and it most certainly is not the American people.

These assumptions are also confirmed by the fact that the program’s partner is the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition. That organization's sole purpose is to “advance immigrant and refugee rights, and build a more inclusive future for everyone.” Again, all of this is really telling, isn't it?

Did you need any more evidence that the city hates you, the American people, and this great nation? Because I certainly do not believe you do.
