WATCH: Kanye West Defends Trump, Blasts "Mental Slavery"
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery,
None but ourselves can free our minds...
- Bob Marley
Not that Bob Marley has anything to do with Kanye doing Kanye things (see David Letterman Educated by Kanye West on Being a Trump Supporter in America and Kanye West Releases Song Defending His Support of Donald Trump). But it's still the bomb song. I'm sure when Ye said the words at a church service in Utah, he was thinking of Marley. Possibly while high. Like Marley.
"And we got the right, right? We got a right to our opinions, right? You black, so you can't like Trump? I ain't never made a decision only based on my color. That's a form of slavery, mental slavery."
Set aside the racial aspect. Because I'm of the unpopular belief the last thing the African American community needs is another white person telling them how to think. That's what the Democrat presidential primary is for. But it's the same people who want to tell you how to think based on your skin color who also wants to tell you how to think based on your private parts. Or your income. Or whatever gender you sexed up recently.
Then cyberbully you over it if you think differently than what your designated victim group is supposed to think.
As long as you can intellectually back up your opinion, you shouldn't be afraid to express it AND tell others they're wrong. If we can learn anything from Kanye lately, make it be that.
