WaPo Laments the Weekly Standard Shutting Down. Ben Shapiro Blasts Their Hypocrisy
This weekend marked the end of the conservative magazine The Weekly Standard. There are a number of reasons why it shut down, but the one most people are running with is the magazine's clear anti-Trump agenda. The left has a sad about this. The Washington Post says conservatism needs a new Weekly Standard untainted by Trump.
Enter notorious tumbler merchant Ben Shapiro (see Ben Shapiro Educates Leftist Who Advocates Confronting Republicans at Home and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Implies Ben Shapiro is a Sexist. He Wrecks Her Bug-Eyed Face!). He couldn't wait to tell Washington Post their "hot take" was weapon's grade bullplop.
The dirty little secret is that WaPo won’t be hiring the top writers at Weekly Standard for precisely the same reason.— Ben Shapiro (@Ben Shapiro) 1544979255.0

Let me blow your mind. There are a lot of conservatives who don't care for Donald Trump. The rub is that if you take away Trumpiness, they all still think conservative things. Not liking Donald Trump doesn't mean you're suddenly against the Second Amendment. Or think transgender men should be allowed to beat girls in high school sports. Not liking Trump doesn't mean you hate all other conservatives. Unlike the douchebags who get hired by The Washington Post -- who claim to still be "conservative" just because the mainstream media tells them they're pretty.
There are tons of "reasonable" conservatives. The problem newspapers like WaPo has isn't that those conservatives are unreasonable. It's that they're conservative in the first place.
