The left often claims that voter ID is racist. The problem with that claim is that it is, in fact, a lie. Skin color has nothing to do with the ability to obtain these government documents, and the people are not buying it. This is why the left has decided to go after a new target — women. Because the people know voter ID has nothing to do with race, the second best thing they could come up with is that married women are too incompetent to prove they are who they say they are.

According to actress Meryl Streep, married women who have changed their names will have to "go to the registrar and prove they are who they are.” She added, "This is such a pain in the neck.” This is the best she could come up with to convince the crowd of the Stephen Colbert Show that they don't deserve secure elections. To call this excuse pathetic would be an understatement.

You see, there is this little thing called a “marriage certificate.” This, combined with a birth certificate, is all that someone needs when they prove they are who they say they are. The fact that she claims blatant laziness is a justification to not have secure elections is deeply deranged.

If married women need their voices heard, then Streep should be demanding voter security, as any illegal vote would void the vote of a legal married woman. Worse of all, voter ID is deeply popular with the American people, including married women.

It’s a policy long opposed by Democrats in Congress, who liken it — along with the bill's proof-of-citizenship requirement to register to vote — to nefarious Jim Crow-era laws aimed at preventing African Americans from voting.

But that message is increasingly falling flat with the American public, including Black voters, as photo IDs are increasingly required for common activities, like flying.

A Pew Research Center poll in August tested a variety of election rules and found that 83% of U.S. adults support “requiring all voters to show government-issued photo identification to vote,” while 16% oppose it. That’s up from 77% support in a 2012 Pew poll.

The fact that the left claims to be all in it to secure democracy, but is still trying to override the will of the people, tells you everything you need to know. That, combined with the fact that they fight to undermine your elections, proves just how much they couldn't care less about what the people want. And to call that a threat to Democracy would be an understatement.
