Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has made it abundantly clear she does not intend to represent the people who voted her in. This is proven not only by her actions, but by her words.

When asked if noncitizens should be given the right to vote in Los Angeles, Bass responded: "We need to explore it.” She made this claim not because she believes it makes the citizens of Los Angeles better off, but because it gives her a better shot of staying in power. Fortunately, though, as of this writing, noncitizens are not legally permitted to vote. Looks like she will have to win (or lose) the old-fashioned way.

However, just because this is not the reality, that does not negate the fact that people are working hard to make this happen.

According to ABC 7, “A Los Angeles city councilmember is pushing to explore whether noncitizens should be allowed to vote in future city elections - a proposal still in its earliest stages but already drawing sharp criticism.”

Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez said he hopes his motion will make it onto the November ballot, claiming it could eventually open the door for noncitizen residents to participate in local elections.

Only 18 states, according to the outlet, have an outright ban on noncitizens voting. Several American cities allow noncitizens to vote in local elections. Fortunately, though, they are banned from voting in federal elections. Nonetheless, this is totally insane and has no place in a logical society.

Last time I checked, Americans don't get a say in how other countries and foreign cities are run. Why does the left work so hard to make that the reality here? You can draw your own conclusions, but if you believe it is because this helps them stay in power, you might be correct.

Karen Bass is a total clown, and the fact that she has a shot of being re-elected is asinine. Let’s hope voters do the right thing.
