The media can’t handle it when Trump does something good. Today’s show breaks down the details on the Venezuelan oil deal.
“We are not going in there and stealing their oil. We are doing something that we have done before. The United States developed Saudi Arabia's oil industry,” Gerald A said. “It does not matter what you have in the ground. It matters if you can extract it and bring it to market, and Venezuela has proven they cannot.”
The situation with Saudi Arabia was very similar. The U.S. signed a 60-year deal after oil companies came together to invest in the economy. Saudi Arabia later bought out those rights in 1980.
“Now they have tons of money and infrastructure that is built there. We did not pillage. That is not what happened,” Gerald A said. “Every time something happens in this administration, they try to bring out these facts and claim this is just like colonialism. No, we have done this before, and people need to start pointing to that.”
The White House has also published a fact sheet.
In the biggest oil deal in world history, President Donald J. Trump has secured U.S. majority control of more than 65 billion barrels of proven oil reserves in Venezuela – vastly expanding our current U.S. territorial proven reserves of roughly 46 billion barrels.
NABEP has granted the U.S. Department of State the right to purchase, at production cost, a guaranteed 20% of the off-take from all current and future fields NABEP will operate—ensuring a stable supply of low-cost oil that can facilitate refilling the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), which Joe Biden depleted to historic lows, and to provide supply for military and other sensitive uses.
The U.S. will also get a “35% equity stake in its corporate parent.”
NABEP has also granted the U.S. Department of State the right of first refusal to purchase the remaining 80% of its production, providing a guaranteed source of energy in our hemisphere in emergency situations.
NABEP plans to invest up to $100 billion in new oil infrastructure in the country.
“They do not have that right now,” Gerald A said.
The target is 17 oil fields, including eight new sites, with a goal of greater than 1.5 million barrels per day.
“When it comes down to Venezuela, it is 100% a win so far. A lot of things have to happen still, but every single deal out there is going to take some time to come to fruition. That is going to be the case in Venezuela, but you cannot look at what he has done in Venezuela and say that is not America first,” Gerald A said.
