Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson’s proposed budget cuts overtime for firefighters and leaves little room for police hiring incentives. It does, however, budget millions for public toilets because, of course, it does.

The spending revisits a failed Seattle experiment: expensive automated bathrooms that became synonymous with vandalism, drug use, and criminal activity before the city abandoned the multi-million-dollar program.
You don't have to know anything about this automated bathroom program to understand we are not dealing with serious people. According to crime data, the city is safer than 1% of U.S. cities. It would seem like public safety should be more of a concern than whatever nonsense this is, but again, we are not dealing with logical people.
I am also old enough to remember when the city tried to defund the police, and calling it a massive failure would be putting it lightly.
Seattle City Councilmember Rob Saka confirms "defund the police" was a failed social experiment. Anyone who still chants this nonsense will not be taken seriously.

You would think these people would learn from their mistakes, but the Socialist mayor would like to double it and give it to the next person. Incredible.
And let us not forget the Summer of Love.
The #DefundThePolice movement has forcefully taken over several blocks in Seattle. These radicals took over a police station causing response times to crimes like rape and murder to TRIPLE.Joe Biden has remained silent about these radicals. We need a LAW & ORDER President! https://t.co/qigX0AmKJU

The left always doubles down on its insanity.
The proposed Seattle Parks and Recreation budget identifies approximately $3.4 million in 2027 and $3.17 million in 2028 to expand restroom access, anticipating 12 new facilities through Parks and the Department of Finance and Administrative Services. That amounts to approximately $6.57 million over two years.
If it was unclear, the bare minimum of municipal government should be to prioritize public safety, not toilets. This is not complicated, and the fact that the left is more concerned with helping the “unhoused” community get more toilets is comical, at best.
According to Public Safety Committee Chair Bob Kettle’s published analysis, planned police hiring falls from a 2026 baseline of 145 to 128 in 2027 and 79 in 2028. The proposal anticipates 43 net additional officers in 2027, followed by no net growth in 2028. Kettle warned that the staffing limits would leave the deployable force stretched thin as Seattle’s population grows.
These people are such a national embarrassment.
