President Donald Trump’s Greenland deal is in effect. Today’s show breaks down what this means for now and the future.

“Even if you disagree with it, and if you think it is ill-timed as it relates to the midterms, can we acknowledge that we are starting to see a relatively clear picture as to the intent here?” Crowder said.

When it comes to Venezuela, the Panama Canal, NATO, AI, and Greenland, "President Trump is obviously boxing out China.”

“It has been a slow creep of China, not just into our hemisphere but into our industries, us becoming reliant on that, and that has been taking place over decades, and all of it is being wiped out in the span of a couple of years. It may take a while for us to see the fruits of this labor, but I do think it is important to recognize the strategy here for better or worse,” Crowder said.

The U.S., Denmark and Greenland formally signed President Donald Trump’s new Greenland security agreement on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly Tuesday, cementing permanent U.S. military rights on the strategically vital Arctic island after months of negotiations over Trump’s push for greater American control.

The U.S. has held extensive military rights in Greenland for decades under a 1951 defense agreement, but administration officials say the new pact goes further by allowing Washington to establish additional military installations without separate Danish or Greenlandic approval, explicitly barring adversaries from establishing a military presence and creating a mechanism to block adversarial investment in sensitive sectors.

“In case you forgot, he has been talking about this for a long time, and of course, the left said there is no way this is going to happen,” Crowder said.

According to the fake news, this deal sucks. For example, The Daily Beast called this a “Humiliating Defeat of His Crackpot Plan to Own Greenland.” Per NBC, “After Greenland threats, Trump settles for a deal that avoids further angering allies.”

One interesting point about this deal is that it never sunsets.

“Even if we get to the point where Greenland becomes independent, the deal has to remain,” Crowder said.

Per the deal, we are also going to establish two new defense areas. It also gives the U.S. free movement through Greenland’s air, water, and land. No non-NATO military will be involved in this deal. Non-NATO and EU states will not have control, significant influence, or access to nonpublic information. There will also be the establishment of a Golden Dome defense system.

“Is Greenland a heavily populated country? No. Has it historically been an incredibly important country when you are talking about military conflict? No. Geographically, it could be the most important, and I think a lot of people lose sight of that. President Trump has not. These are significant changes. We do not own Greenland, but this is what we actually wanted,” Crowder said.
