I'd prefer it if the President of the United States didn't go on an unhelpful boomer rant against the Pope on social media. Though, not as much as I'd prefer if the Pope focused more on kids making their First Communion over the next few weeks than chirp about US immigration policy. We don't live in either world, so if you're going to respond to an interloper sticking their nose in matters that don't concern them, do it like Tom Homan.

"Respond like Tom Homan" is good messaging advice for Republicans on a whole host of issues. Immigration is his wheelhouse, and he is of the mind that if you are going to state an opinion on something, keep quiet unless you know what the deuce you're talking about.

I'm a lifelong Catholic. I wish they'd STAY OUT of immigration, they don't know what they're talking about. ... I welcome discussion with any of them, because they don't understand illegal immigration is not a victimless crime.

A lot of this could be handled if the Pope were ever challenged on anything ever. If so, a conversation with Homan might clue his Popeiness into what's really going on, rather than what Chicago activists may have told them.

Because if they wore my shoes for 40 years, and talked to a 9-year-old girl that got r*ped multiple times, or stood in the back of a tractor trailer with 19 dead aliens at my feet, including a 5-year-old boy that baked to death, if they understood the atrocities that happened on the open border, I think their opinion would change!

The "Chicago activist" part is key, what with this Pope being the second American Pope. Real ones know who the first American Pope was.

Prior to being Pope, Cardinal Robert Prevost was a Chicago boomer who, as surprising as this may be to some of you, held the exact same radical leftist opinions as every other activist in Chicago. This may also explain the Vatican's strange new respect for Islam.

Trump's boomer rants are unhelpful. Case in point, everyone is criticizing or defending him for going after the Pope or sharing a dumb meme instead of talking about the increased tax returns we're all getting today thanks to Trump's leadership and his Big, Beautiful, Bill. Polls show voters want the president to be more concerned with the economy and other issues that matter to them. This would have been a great opportunity to do so.

Or, another option would have been to point out the irony that shortly after Barack Obama's former advisor brought friends to meet with the Pope, Catholic leaders took part in an anti-Trump hit piece on 60 Minutes. I don't remember the church being this vocal when Democrats were suing nuns and supporting abortion up until crowning.

There are better ways to respond to the Pope's misguided opinion on illegal immigration that don't cause a distraction. Tom Homan is the way to do that.
