Scott Jennings takes CNN, liberal professor to school about propaganda, Jimmy Kimmel, and consequence culture

.@ScottJenningsKY: Do I defend Jimmy Kimmel going on TV and saying a shooter from the left...he has a right to do so but he does not have the right to have a television show where he lies his ass off to the American people and attacks half this country on a nightly basis. pic.twitter.com/S3Hihn94Zc

Four key points about where we're at right now:
- Jimmy Kimmel smeared Trump voters on his "comedy" show and spread misinformation that Charlie Kirk's assassin was one of us.
- ABC suspended the show indefinitely when two major affiliates pulled the show as a result.
- Donald Trump and FCC Chair Brendan Carr bragged and celebrated its happening.
- The media is acting like Kimmel was killed while trying to have a conversation with people.
That brings us to CNN's Everyone Gang Up On Scott Jennings w/ Scott Jennings. Jeff Jarvis, a talking head who was a professor at one point, threw round the word "propaganda" and thumbed his nose at Jennings expecting him to defend a hateful prick like Kimmel from becoming a victim of consequence culture.
Jennings, speaking for most of us on the right (even those of us who are uncomfortable with aspects of what happened), was not in the mood. Shouts to Jorge Bonilla, the Ayotollah of Espanola, for the transcript:
You use the phrase “propaganda”, professor. And I just have to ask you, what do you consider what Jimmy Kimmel was doing every night, or what Stephen Colbert was doing by having on only Democratic guests? Jimmy Kimmel Monday night flat lied about the shooter back in the spring. He egged his audience on in cheering on the violence against and wanting kind of wishing, I think, the downfall of a publicly traded company, Tesla. Do you consider that to be propaganda? Is it good for a business?
Now, what makes the Kimmel thing dodgy for some of us is Donald Trump's social media post bragging about it, and Carr's comments to reporters. Now, would it be nice if the president and the people who work for him weren't so desperate for social media approval that they don't realize they do more harm than good? Sure, but that's not the world we live in.
Setting that aside, you'll have to forgive me if I don't lose sleep over Disney/ABC doing Kimmel like they did Gina Carano and Roseanne Barr. Conservatives have lived under the fear of losing their jobs for liking the wrong meme. Kimmel spread a lie in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk being assassinated, was a douche about it (as he is about anyone who has a different opinion than them) while emotions are still raw, and had that lie broadcast into the homes of people he was lying about.
It's not cancel culture. It's consequence culture.
.@ScottJenningsKY: I expect to get fired every day. This is a tough business. And if I were Jimmy Kimmel, I mean, I'm surprised that a guy who once wore blackface and caused large-breasted women to jump on trampolines lasted this long in the media business to begin with. He was… pic.twitter.com/NduF2PD5Pv

Am I thrilled about the precedent this sets? Not really, no. Mayhaps I'll feel differently about it this week. Today, I'm feeling Nelson Muntzy about it. HA HA!
