UK police ransack home of former officer over claims of an antisemitic tweet... except it wasn't, and now he's suing
Pay Attention, America. A former police officer was arrested in the UK over what was deemed an "antisemetic tweet." Except a) it wasn't, b) police ransacked his house looking for any other sign of extremism, and c) even if it was "antisemetic," authorities in the UK will ransack your house and arrested you OVER A TWEET THEY CLAIM TO BE OFFENSIVE.
Before we go further, refresh your memory with these JD Vance bars calling out Europe for its lack of free speech protections.
JD Vance went to the Munich Security Conference and roasted the entire continent of Europe for being petty tyrants and criminalizing freedom of speech, including a British man arrested for praying at an abortion clinic.

The UK is lousy with examples, especially during the pandemic. My personal favorite is the time police overwhelmed an autistic girl because she told a cop she looked like her nana, who was a lesbian. Also, multiple times, citizens in England were arrested for praying.
- Watch: A woman getting fined for praying in the "wrong place" somehow NOT as ridiculous as the questions the cop asks first
- British Veteran Convicted Of Thought Crimes For Praying In Front Of Abortion Clinic Over His Deceased Son
- Watch: Woman gets arrested for PRAYING because in the UK, there are certain places where that's against the law
That brings us to Julian Foulkes and the following tweet, where he criticized a pro-Hamas supporter.
Foulkes was referencing a 2023 incident in Russia, where a mob stormed an airport looking for Jewish passengers. He says he could have worded it better, but even so:
“But even without the extra wording, it should have been clear to anyone reading it in context that his post was a warning about where anti-Semitic hate could lead.”
No one complained about the tweet. Only 26 people saw the tweet. The rub is that one of those 26 people was the authorities doing a routine sweep of the internet looking for anything offensive, and decided this response was worthy of a visit. Also, worthy of tearing apart his kitchen, his underwear drawer, and accusing him of harboring Brexity materials... a few Douglas Murray books.
Six officers from the very force he served for over a decade showed up at his home. They handcuffed the 71-year-old and began combing through his house, seizing books by authors like Douglas Murray—raising concerns over what they described as “very Brexity things.”
He was then locked in a cell for eight hours and interrogated—on suspicion of “malicious communications.”
This all took place two and a half years ago. It took them that long to admit they made a mistake and apologize. Foulkes plans to sue the police department over the ordeal.
The reason why I started off with "Pay Attention, America" is that people in the UK, despite knowing the government will have you arrested for social media comments or praying in public, continue to re-elect those same leaders over and over and over again. Do you think for one second that if given the opportunity, the People Who Controlled Joe Biden (and would have controlled Kamala Harris) wouldn't try to do the same if they could find any way to get away with it?
