— Senator Scott Wiener (@Scott_Wiener) April 18, 2026
When Calif. State Senator Scott Wiener is not pushing legislation that “provides refuge for trans kids and their families,” he is working to lower penalties for some “offenders to register as a sex offender after committing certain sex acts with minors.” And when he is not doing all of that, he is working to lower the penalty of intentionally exposing someone to HIV.
And when he is not doing all of that, he harasses coffee shops until they put up pride flags, in a way to forcefully affirm leftist ideology.
Philz Coffee, a California Coffee chain, is adding pride flags back to all its locations just one week after removing them. Wiener, along with many LGBT activists, could not comprehend how a company could make such a logical decision. Subsequently, the leftist bullying tour ensued, and Philz was forced to raise rainbow flags once again.
According to ABC 7:
Philz Coffee is reversing course and adding Pride flags back to all of its locations, a little over a week after it decided it would pull them from stores to create "an inclusive experience."
When only a fraction of the population identifies as LGBT, it is more inclusive not to have flags that affirm the identities of an insignificant number of people. Why this is so controversial is beyond reason.
CEO Mahesh Sadarangani released a statement apologizing for the previous decision, which sparked a litany of backlash on social media. Many voiced their disappointment in the coffee company that started out as a single cafe in San Francisco's Mission District.
If you think the business will be honoring heterosexual people, aka the majority of the population, you would, in fact, be wrong.
"I made a mistake, and I am sincerely sorry. To our Team Members, to our customers, and to the LGBTQIA+ community that has been with us since the very beginning, the confusion and hurt we caused around our new policy for Pride flags failed you."
"The Pride flag is a symbol of safety and belonging for people who don't always find that in the world, and that is not something I want to take away from anyone who walks into a Philz. I had the chance to sit down with San Francisco Pride leaders Suzanne Ford and Jupiter Peraza, both are trans women who led this conversation with grace, directness and a genuine commitment to finding alignment on what matters. I want to be clear about where Philz stands: our Pride flags are staying up. If a Pride flag came down, it can be put back up."
"Going forward, each of the company's 82 stores, representing 82 unique communities, will also feature locally created artwork shaped by the voices of Team Members and the neighborhoods they serve, a living expression of the diverse communities Philz is proud to be part of."
In other words, they had no choice but to cave to leftist demands, despite this being the most exclusive move a business can make. This is unsurprising, though, as the left does a good job at going after those who refuse to appease the woke mob.
It is unclear why Wiener thought this was a fight a state lawmaker should take on, considering how much of a mess his state is, but this is the best he can do, as he continuously fails to present a piece of legislation that has made the people of California better off. And to call him pathetic would be an understatement.
