It's Now Illegal to Criticize Muslims in Australia. No, Really...

Brodigan
August 08, 2016

Australia wants to ban all the things (see Australia's Gun Ban Results in More Guns Than Ever... New Findings). Now they want to make it illegal to criticize Muslims. Their reasoning? It's all "religious vilification," but I'll bet you a case of Fosters and an autographed poster of The Wiggles that you won't be seeing a lot of suits filed by "vilified" Christians. How do I know? Read on...

Vilification on the grounds of religion is now illegal and in serious cases could result in a criminal conviction with a fine of up to $7500, under laws passed by the ACT parliament on Thursday.

Both Labor and Liberal supported the move put by the Greens Shane Rattenbury, who said the display of hatred, intolerance and offensive behaviour towards Muslims was one of the biggest intolerance issues in Australia today.

The University of South Australia had found about 10 per cent of Australians were highly Islamophobic, and while the ACT showed the lowest rates in the country, Islamophobia was still significant here.

"It is clear [Muslims] are frequently, almost constantly, exposed to discrimination, vilification and targeted offensive behaviour," he said.

Remember how we said "religious vilification" earlier? Yeah, "Muslim vilification" is the more accurate term. It's a not so sneaky attempt at religious favoritism. Because #NotAllMuslims #NotANYMuslims. Got that? No Islam criticizing whatsoever, lest you're hungry for a big, fat fine and a blemish on your criminal record. Don't even look at them. It sounds facetious, but the term vilification is left undefined. It could be anything from flat out discrimination to a rational fear of Muslims making things go "bang". Did Muhammad gain weight or is that a suicide vest? NO QUESTIONS!!

Freedom of thought? Meh. Toss it out with the mean, scary guns. After all, we are talking about the leftist crapfactory that is Australia. People always give me flack when I say that "freedom of speech does not exist outside of the United States." It is 100% true and I stand by it. This story is yet more proof.

By the way, that surge in Australian Islamophobia? Makes sense (read Dear PC Leftists: Actually, 'Islamophobia' is an Entirely Logical 'Phobia'...). The whole political correctness thing doesn't do much in the way of preventing terrorism. Just ask France, Germany, Sweden, Turkey...

Speaking of criticizing Islam...
