My position on the Republican primary hasn't changed. I'm all in for Ron DeSantis, but if voters disagree with me I'll vote for whoever the nominee is because any of our candidates are preferable to the radical progressives who run Joe Biden. However, it would be nice if some GOP candidates stopped making it so difficult to do. Hi Nikki Haley.

You would think her desperate attempt to tie the October 7th Hamas terror attack to Putin would be the dumbest thing she said in December. Instead, she whiffed on what should have been a simple question about slavery.

Questioner: What was the cause of the United States Civil War?

Haley: Well, don’t come with an easy question.

But they did come with an easy question. Slavery. The answer is slavery. Instead...

Haley clarified this morning on New Hampshire radio that OF COURSE slavery was an obvious answer. Just like, OF COURSE, she wasn't talking about coming after American anonymous social media accounts. Also, she claims the questioner was a plant.

Here's the thing: the questioner probably was a plant. It could have come from the Democrats. It could have come from one of her Republican opponents. The rub is how easy it would be to trip her up. Nikki Haley had the confederate flag removed from the South Carolina statehouse in 2015. There is a portion of the GOP base who is angry at her for doing so. Whoever "planted" the question knew she would need to answer the question in a way that panders to everyone.

Instead of just saying SLAVERY like they taught us on The Simpsons.

"Actually, there were numerous causes. Aside from the obvious schism between the abolitionists and the anti-abolitionists, there were..."

"Wait, wait. Slavery. Just say slavery."

Slavery it is. Or, slavery is what it should have been when Nikki was asked yesterday.

There are rumors that the former president of the United States Donald Trump, should he win the nomination, would choose Nikki Haley as his running mate. In a recent interview, he didn't rule Haley out: "I actually got along with her very well. As you know, she left at a nice ceremony at the White House — it was very nice. She said terrific things about me.”

The Iowa Caucus, the first stop in determining who the GOP nominee will be, is on January 15th, 2024.
