Watch: LGBTC-ya later! GLAAD announces "dangerous precedent" of gay characters being cancelled from television

The media is canceling LGBT characters from Hollywood productions, and GLAAD is not too happy about this. Todayβs show breaks it down.
βThis is momentum,β Crowder said. βOne language actually talks with these people, and that is money. They will say this is really important to us until people are not tuning it.β
According to Deadline:
As GLAAD releases the 20th anniversary edition of its βWhere We Are on TVβ report, LGBTQ representation appears to be at a pace of two steps forward, three steps back.
Despite the 2025 report showing a slight uptick from last yearβs 468 to 489 LGBTQ characters across all platforms, that number takes a major blow as more than 200 (41%) of those characters will not return, due to series cancellations, endings or limited series format.
βIt has been shoehorned into every single movie or show we have been watching for years,β Gerald A said.
With 96 (20%) LGBTQ characters on shows that have not yet been renewed, their onscreen fates hang in the balance.
Clearly, boycotts do, in fact, work.
βThat means you are not just going to have fewer gay characters, but you are going to have fewer voices moving forward,β Crowder said.
βTelevision is a powerful medium, because these characters grow and evolve over the years, alongside the audience,β the report reads. βWhen so many series are only being greenlit for short runs and the seasons themselves are getting shorter, the potential larger impact of these characters disappears. Less than half of the LGBTQ characters counted appear on renewed series, and with their loss comes a loss of possibility for impact that continues for years with an audience, creating social change.β
The culture is shifting, and the left cannot even begin to comprehend that.
βI don't want to hear people say that nothing gets done, that nothing gets conserved. You have helped push back,β Crowder said. βThe culture is shifting in this country.β
