By now we all know how much the left relies on emotional manipulation to get their point across. Democrats have a habit of using tragedies to push their narratives (see Opportunistic Democrats Exploit Vegas Shooting to Push Gun Control Agenda...). So as you can imagine, this story of a 10-year-old girl with cerebral palsy being deported? Par for the course.

A 10-year-old girl with cerebral palsy is facing deportation after crossing a Border Patrol checkpoint on her way to the hospital.

The girl's mother, Felipa Delacruz, was told by a Mexican consulate that federal officials were investigating her immigration status. The girl was sent from Laredo, Texas, to Corpus Christi accompanied by her U.S. citizen cousin to get gallbladder surgery.

On the way to the hospital, they passed a Border Patrol checkpoint and were then escorted by federal agents to Driscoll Children's Hospital.

Before the pitchforks and fire get started, don't get me wrong: this is a tragedy. Which pro-amnesty leftists are currently drooling over:

Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-Texas) said federal agents are staking out the girl's hospital room, with "plans to rip this ailing little girl from her family, and ship her off, by herself, to a detention center ... A small child who just had surgery is not a threat to Texans' safety or our national security. DHS should focus its resources elsewhere," he said.

Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez also jumped into the fray, calling the situation "beyond inhumane."

"By needlessly targeting this little girl, the Trump administration is proving once again that its capacity for cruelty knows no bounds," added Perez.

Let's go over what we know. A 10-year-old girl with cerebral palsy was lugged across the border illegally by her parents. We don't know if they specifically brought her here for surgery, or if they were living here illegally long before. What we do know? Her parent(s) broke the law. ICE discovered she was here illegally. ICE escorted herself and her family to the children's hospital, where she may have still received care. ICE didn't dump her in a detention center alone  and sick. So this panicked cry of "ripping a girl from her family?" That clearly didn't happen. Re-read the story. Take a breath. Keep sight of the facts.

Those who break the law are accountable for themselves. In this case, the mother of the girl broke the law. Unfortunately, her child may suffer because of it... Which is the tragedy in this case, not ICE agents doing their jobs.

We can adhere to objective, humane laws and not stoop to accusations of cruelty. The left doesn't have a monopoly on compassion. Stupidity, on the other hand...
