Watch: Kamala Harris won't stop LYING about Georgia voter bill, so here's what it really says about "banning" water
You begrudgingly need to hand it to the people who run Joe Biden. They know that they will never get called out for lying about legislation (see: Gay, Don't Say) and they are still trying to make Kamala Harris happen. Those two things collided during a CNN interview where Kamala Harris kept up the White House lies about Georgia's common sense voter integrity reforms. Yes, still.
Democrats have been lying about the bill since it was first announced in 2021. "Jim Crow on steroids," is what it was called. Joe Biden claimed you were a raaaaacist if you disagreed with him and fear mongered the MLB into moving the All-Star game out of Atlanta. Then the law passed, Georgia saw RECORD NUMBERS turning out to vote, and even though Georgia passed their "Jim Crow on steroids," MLB is bringing the All-Star game back to Atlanta in 2025.
One of the popular lies told about the bill is that it banned providing water to people. Here is Kamalalalalalalala repeating said lie in January 2024.
On CNN, Kamala Harris repeats the lie that Georgia's election integrity law banned people from giving voters water in the line at the polls.
That's a lie.
It banned people specifically affiliated with campaigns from giving people water.

Except, that is not what the law says. Just ask Democrat Rep. Ted Lieu who shared that specific "water" text. Also, who exposed a stunning lack of reading comprehension skills.
You are wrong. Here’s the text of the law. pic.twitter.com/argTAYPP2v

He missed all the words before and after the word "water." And I quote (emphasis mine):
"This Code section shall not be construed to prohibit a poll officer from distributing materials, as required by law, which are necessary for the purpose of instructing electors or from distributing materials prepared by the Secretary of State which are designed solely for the purpose of encouraging voter participation in the election being conducted or from making available self-service water from an unattended receptacle to an elector waiting in line to vote."
All states (most at least) have laws about electioneering within a certain amount of distance from polling places. The law says activist organizations can't hand out water with their slogans and issues on the label... because that would be electioneering.
Not only does the bill not do what Democrats say it does, but the passage was also UNDERLINED IN THE BILL BECAUSE THEY KNEW PEOPLE WHO LIE ABOUT THIS PART.
It's good to know Democrats plan to run on all the same lies they've told over the past three years. Kamala's next interview will be on book banning of books that aren't banned.
