Rayden Tanner Coleman pleaded to two charges of illegally manufacturing a destructive device. Authorities believe he attempted to kill ICE agents. He just got sentenced to probation. To call this a slap in the face to justice would be an understatement.

According to Fox 12:
Rayden Tanner Coleman, 19, of Columbia City, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Columbia County Circuit Court to two counts of unlawful manufacture of a destructive device, a Class C felony.
At one point in history, these sorts of crimes were considered very, very serious.

Under a plea agreement, Judge Michael T. Clarke sentenced Coleman to 36 months of supervised probation and ordered him to serve 75 days in jail, with credit for time already served. The state dismissed 13 other charges, including domestic terrorism in the second degree, attempt to commit a Class B felony, and multiple counts of possessing destructive devices.
According to court documents, investigators began tracking Coleman after acquaintances reported statements he made about attacking federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents with homemade bombs.
Again, threats against officers, especially federal ones, used to be taken seriously by the court system. What do you think has changed?
Witnesses told investigators that Coleman planned to form a group called the “Cascadia Rangers” and aimed to recruit members from the Warm Springs Reservation, according to police. He reportedly told people that launching an attack on federal officers would show his seriousness and inspire others to join his cause.
This is totally unacceptable. Authorities have got to start holding people accountable, especially when they allegedly make violent, terrorist-like threats against federal officers because of political disagreements. And while I cannot 100% conclude that the punishment was lacking because he is very likely a leftist, this inference can’t be ruled out. Maybe one day authorities will take violent threats seriously, but until then this is the best they can do. What a disgrace.
