Hercules star Kevin Sorbo Says Gianni Versace Sexually Harassed Him
If there's one thing we learned in this post Harvey Weinstein world, it's that love is love when it comes to sexual harassment. It's actresses AND actors who have shared stories (see Rob Schneider Shares Disturbing Story of Sexual Harassment: ‘I felt disgusted…’ and James Van Der Beek Admits to Being Sexually Harassed by Hollywood Executives).
Add Kevin Sorbo to the list. Yes, Hercules. He shared his story of fashion designer Gianni Versache looking to grab a handful.
Really, at this point who hasn't been sexually harassed in Hollywood?
He was invited to numerous dinner parties that had other famous guests like Sophia Loren and Richard Gere, but at a dinner of just the two of them where they were supposed to discuss him possibly being featured in a commercial campaign, things escalated.“All of a sudden, his hand goes up my leg,” Sorbo said.
He recalled telling Versace, “Dude, you know I’m straight?” to which he responded, “This is why I like you. You’re not a girly man. You are a man’s man.”
“In life, you must f**k everything,” Versace told Sorbo. “You must do the dog, and the cat, and the boy, and the girl.”
Not going to lie, I'm laughing. Just a little bit. Not that sexual harassment itself is funny. It's not. But reading the explanation of Versace is funny. Harassment isn't funny, okay?! But the excuse given is. But yeah, still wrong to grab a man by his twigs and berries. Regardless of your equal opportunity f*ckery.
That line about "f**king everything" almost sounds like a parody of sleazy Hollywood. It seems like that place is an incestual pit of groping, assaulting, and other verbs better left to the imagination. Or legal documents which are likely sealed under NDAs.
Hollywood is a sewer. But an equal opportunity sewer.
