The problem with crime committed by illegal aliens is that it is 100% preventable. Far too many Americans have tragically lost their lives because the left refuses to admit that borders are, in fact, morally and legally permissible. According to leftist logic, though, so long as no human is illegal, none of this matters. And in that pathetic pursuit, another innocent American has lost her life far too soon.

Even worse is that Chicago Democrat and 49th Ward Alderwoman Maria Hadden has decided to victim-blame, as she claims that if Gorman had been elsewhere at the time of the crime, none of this would have happened.

And to call this the perfect example of fake leftist compassion would be an understatement.

According to The Post Millennial:

18-year-old Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman was shot and killed in the early hours of Friday morning when she was out with her friends near Tobey Prinz Beach Park in Chicago. The suspect in that killing is an illegal immigrant from Venezuela Jose Medina, 25, who was released into the country under the Biden administration and was further caught and released after a shoplifting arrest.

The fact that he entered this country illegally, to then commit more crimes post facto, to then be released back in the country, tells you everything you need to know about leftist border policies. This was not simply a case of bad luck; it is the perfect representation of open border policies wreaking havoc on innocent lives. The fact that this is controversial is a whole other scandal in itself.

But for Chicago Democrat and 49th Ward Alderwoman Maria Hadden, it was Gorman who was "in the wrong place at the wrong time." Medina approached Gorman and her friends "while wearing a mask and armed with a gun," said DHS. Gorman "attempted to flee," but Medina "fired his gun and shot her," the agency continued.

Speaking to local news, Hadden appeared to blame Gorman for being killed. "The kids were out doing normal things people do in the neighborhood," she said. "They may have been in the wrong place at the wrong time, running into a person who had a gun."

This is a level of delusion only possible among the most radical leftists. This is what happens when you dedicate your ideology to ensuring no human is illegal — innocent people get killed. This is a tragedy that should have never happened in the first place, and it wouldn't have, if not for leftist open border policies and soft-on-crime prosecutors.

If the Biden Administration did its job, Gorman would be here today. If prosecutors did their job, she would be heading to class right about now. The problem, though, is that the left hates doing its job, which is why they blindly defend illegal immigration despite the cost it has on America.
