If you cannot even manage your own finances, so much so that you resort to a donation platform to help pay rent, that screams volumes as to whether or not your house is in order. This is why it is arrogant, yet also dangerous, for Brian Romero, who is likely to win the Queens Assemblymember seat, as he is unopposed, to run for office when he cannot even get his personal budget right.

Romero launched a GoFundMe, claiming his “temporary situation” has made it difficult to fund work, and that he is still waiting on his unemployment benefits. Following backlash, he took the fundraiser down. However, he still managed to raise $1,000.

Per the New York Post:

The Public Officers Law bans elected officials from soliciting personal donations or gifts “intended to influence official duties or serve as a reward for official actions.”

It should come as no surprise that he was endorsed by Mayor Zohran Mamdani and AOC.

Romero said on the GoFundMe page that he had found it difficult to find work because of his “temporary situation” and that he had filed for unemployment insurance but had not received it.

He said he landed a small gig but “I need help making rent this month until I start getting paid again.”

He claims he left his full-time job to run for office, and that even though he saved up cash for "months," he has now “depleted [his] savings and [is] close to closing down some consulting gigs.”

He continued, “To help navigate this next chapter we’ve created a GoFundMe to cover the rest of rent and groceries. The support from friends, colleagues, and community members so far has been overwhelming, and we are deeply grateful.”

This story really sums up the Socialist mentality, doesn't it? We are talking about a man so arrogant he believes he is qualified to serve the people of Queens, yet he is so incompetent he cannot even manage to pay his own rent. Even worse, he expects the very people he ran to represent to fork the bill. It truly is the perfect representation of Socialism, isn't it? We are talking about the most naive, incompetent, and financially inept members of society thinking they can run the system better than the status quo. It truly is a level of stupidity only possible among the most stupid Socialists.

The worst part is that he is beholden to an ideology that blames everyone else for his failures to make ends meet. The double standards sure are doubling, aren't they?
