Hospital Replaces Christmas Eve With Juneteenth As A Paid Holiday. You Know, For Equity Reasons!
In yet another attempt from the left to advance equity, the largest and most progressive hospital system in Georgia has replaced Christmas Eve from its paid holiday calendar and replaced it with Juneteenth, effective next year.
Juneteenth is just another excuse for Democrats to scold everyone and virtue signal about their perpetual fights for progress.
“In response to requests from our care team members over the past few years, we are pleased to add Juneteenth to the holidays we recognize. At Emory Healthcare, we strive to support our employees and our diverse communities in recognizing holidays that are meaningful and important to them. Christmas has been, and will remain, a recognized holiday. However, beginning in 2024, we will remove Christmas Eve as a recognized holiday and replace it with Juneteenth. We are committed to providing our patients as much access to care as possible and always consider this factor in decisions regarding holidays," the hospital’s statement said
Emory Healthcare’s hope is that recognizing the holiday will allow more opportunities for reflection and education, according to Atlanta News First.
"We hope this will allow more opportunities for celebration, reflection, and education," Emory Healthcare CEO Joon Sup Lee wrote in an email to employees. "[D]iversity, equity, and inclusion at Emory Healthcare (EHC) is about creating an environment of true belonging for our patients and team members, while ensuring equitable outcomes for all."
The premise of declaring Juneteenth a federal holiday was to celebrate the end of slavery. And it’s fine to celebrate the end of something evil like slavery, but that’s not what they are doing here. It’s really meant to fuel their pursuit of racial justice. The left only acknowledges dark events if they see them as a way to promote progressive causes.
Federal holidays typically involve some form of respect and appreciation. On Veterans Day, we thank those who gave service to our country. On Presidents Day we express our thanks to the people who made this country so great. But Juneteenth is an angry holiday used to fuel “progress.”
“Juneteenth has never been a celebration of victory, or an acceptance of the way things are. It’s a celebration of progress. It’s an affirmation that despite the most painful parts of our history, change is possible––and there is still so much work to do,” Obama tweeted in 2020.
Progressives use Juneteenth to fuel hate for their revolution. The left has always hated Christmas because it brings people together. And they need this day as an excuse to fuel division.
