The problem with leftist ideology is that it’s not logical. This is why more often than not, these people always eat their words. This is also why we have the saying: “If the left didn't have double standards, they would have no standards at all.” When you combine that with the fact that you can never be progressive enough, as the goal post continually changes, you get this story.
Billie Eilish thought it would be best to lecture Americans, many of whom are struggling to live paycheck to paycheck, as to why they don't deserve a secure border. According to her, we are living on stolen land. This is why she believes your worries about job security, rent stability, and public safety are meaningless, as this land was not always considered the United States of America.
The best part about this is that she lectured you just before she went back to her $3 million mansion, which just so happens to be on “stolen land.”
The Tongva tribe has confirmed that Eilish’s residence is sitting on its ancestral land.
According to WIBC:
The Native American tribe whose ancestral territory includes the land beneath Billie Eilish’s multimillion-dollar Los Angeles mansion says celebrities should be more precise if they want to invoke Indigenous history for moral statements.
The Tongva tribe confirmed that the “Bad Guy” singer’s $3 million home is located on its ancestral land after the 24-year-old artist used her Grammys acceptance speech to criticize ICE and declare that “no one is illegal on stolen land.”
“It is our hope that in future discussions, the tribe can explicitly be referenced to ensure the public understands that the greater Los Angeles Basin remains Gabrieleno Tongva territory,” the spokesperson added.
Firstly, it’s pathetic how Eilish went up there as if she said something original and not some overplayed leftist phrase. Secondly, it’s even more pathetic that she lectured you when she’s guilty of the very things she proposes to defend. Thirdly, someone should really inform celebrities that they could not be more out of touch if they tried.
The reasons why illegal immigration is unpopular with Americans are things she could not ever be bothered to think about. Her job will never be jeopardized because of cheap foreign workers. She does not have to care about a massive increase in rent or a lack of housing supply. Public safety is also not a concern for people like her, as she can afford private security. None of these things matter when you're as rich as Eilish, as these are little people's problems.
By her standards, she should give the property back to the tribe, since she claims you can't have control over “stolen land.” But she won't, because she not only pretends to care about these fake issues, but to her, this is a problem solely for the little people.
Some humans are illegal, and the sooner she realizes that, the less naive she will be. Until then, we can only hope she returns her property that currently sits on stolen land.
