The Left is the party of “defund the police.” In fact, I would go as far as to say they despise law enforcement. Several things prove this.

First, they do everything in their power to keep criminals out of jail and on the streets. While this could suggest they despise the public more than officers, it at least proves they have a “soft on crime” attitude.

Second, they often label the police as racist or assign blame to the entirety of this nation’s police force when rare, outlier situations occur.

Third, they raise outrage the moment an officer pulls the trigger, yet we hear little to nothing when officers are innocently harmed.

All of this, combined with much more, is more than enough proof that the Left hates the police.

This is why it’s so disingenuous when they suddenly pretend to care about officers who may or may not have been harmed on January 6. Nonetheless, over 1,500 officers in D.C. alone have been assaulted since that day, and I have yet to hear a peep about that from any elected Democrat. Have you? I didn’t think so.

What makes it even more disingenuous is when Democratic Senator Dick Durbin questioned D.C. Police Union Boss Gregg Pemberton about Trump’s pardons for approximately 1,500 Capitol riot participants. Especially when you take into account that 1,537 D.C. officers have suffered injuries from assaults since that day, yet 95 percent of those cases were declined for prosecution by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

That is why Pemberton had no choice but to call out Durbin's pure hypocrisy. But the worst part is that Durbin doubled down on his line of questioning, completely ignored the assaults that have occurred after January 6, and continued to focus only on the date that was politically beneficial for his side. So, to call the concern for officers on that day “disingenuous” doesn’t even begin to cover it.
