Watch: Doocy Asks KJP If White House Will Host Victims Of Nashville Shooting, Hear Her Lame Attempt To Answer
Another day, another Doocy/KJP moment. Today's question was about the victims of the Nashville shooting - specifically, whether or not they have been invited to the White House. You can probably guess the answer to that.
Doocy pointed out the White House is hosting several Tennessee lawmakers who protested after the shooting. He then asked if they also extended such an invite to the families or victims. KJP replied, "I don't have anything to read out to you about any invite." And then began to ramble about how focused Joe Biden is on "getting things done". Seriously.
\u201cDoocy on Nashville school shooting: "Have any of the victims or the victims' families been invited to the White House."\n\nWH press sec: "I don't have anything to read out to you about any invite."\u201d— The Post Millennial (@The Post Millennial) 1681924338
"What I can say to you right now is that the President is focused on getting things done. He's focused on making sure that we are protecting our communities, that we're protecting our schools, protecting our churches, protecting our grocery stores that people, as we know in Buffalo went to the grocery on a Saturday and got murdered."
If Biden is so incredibly focused on protecting our schools, why has he not called on Congress to...protect our schools? With armed security guards and even teachers? Instead, he and his administration call for more gun control, and then blame Republicans for refusing to pass it.
The lawmakers invited to the White House are state Reps. Justin Jones, Justin Pearson, and Gloria Johnson, nicknamed the "Tennessee Three". Jones and Pearson were expelled earlier this month for participating in gun control protests after the Nashville shooting. Said protests actually took place inside the state Capitol, after the protestors stormed the building. One could say it was somewhat of an "insurrection," but that apparently doesn't matter here. Both of the expelled lawmakers were reappointed shortly after.
I don't think I have to point out the blatant hypocrisy at play here. But the real tragedy is how the victims of this shooting and their families have been lost in the politics of it all.
