Coming into the country illegally is already a federal crime. But elected officials seem to have forgotten that itty bitty detail. I guess they decided to act as if we needed excuses to deport illegal immigrants, even though the reason to deport them happened the moment they crossed the border. But that is not the point of this story.

The point is that it’s election season and Congress has to pretend to care that they want to do something about the crisis at the border. Most of them don’t care. They don’t even care to pretend to care. But since many are up for reelection, this is the best they could do. Which is to pretend they want to deport illegals who have been convicted of DUIs. Subsequently, they decided to create a bill that will probably never come to fruition, as they always do. And even if it did pass, none of these “sanctuary” cities and states would give a crap.

But again, none of that is the point. The point is that 150 Democrats voted against this bill. Honestly, I am surprised that so many Democrats voted in favor of it. But as we know, it’s an election year.

I am all for deporting Illegals who are convicted of DUIs. But, it should not take a DUI to deport them. If they are caught here illegally, then send them back. They have already proven they do not respect our federal laws. But once again, that is not what we are talking about right now.

The bill should have been written like this, “Deport Immigrants Who Are Convicted of DUIs”. Because illegals don’t need an excuse to be deported. And I am someone who takes DUIs very, very seriously. I think it's one of the dumbest things people do. And it shows they not only could care less about their own life, but the life of others. And when you are that careless, you do not deserve to be here. But we know that’s never going to happen. So I guess this bill is the best we got.

“Every Republican voted for the bill, as did 59 Democrats. Many of the Democrats who voted for the bill have been identified by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee as vulnerable in 2024, including Virginia’s Abigail Spanberger, Nevada’s Steven Horsford and Susie Lee, and Michigan’s Dan Kildee.

Many prominent Democrats voted against the measure, however. California’s Adam Schiff; Florida’s Debbie Wasserman Schultz; Maryland’s Jamie Raskin; Massachusetts’ Ayanna Pressley; Michigan’s Rashida Tlaib; Minnesota’s Ilhan Omar; Missouri’s Cori Bush; New York’s Jamaal Bowman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Jerry Nadler; South Carolina’s Jim Clyburn; and Texas’ Al Green and Sheila Jackson Lee all opposed the bill.”

Oh, and Nadler, not only voted against the bill but said that tax dollars should be used to expand public ride-sharing programs instead of deporting illegals who are convicted of driving under the influence.

But that’s no surprise since he also thinks our produce would rot and cease to exist if we didn’t have illegals.

Anyway, all of this is more virtue signaling from Congress from anti-Americian Democrats and useless Republicans who don’t do much of anything to begin with. But this is the best these people can do. Which is pathetic on its own. But it’s even more pathetic since it's election season and we should expect some effort on the border. But again, the best we get is virtue signaling. And even if it did come to fruition, it would have absolutely zero effect on what’s going on at the Southern Border.

But hey, at least they can say they tried.
