A Democrat just stirred the pot faster than a KitchenAid on "liquify" mode. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas) recently had a rare flash of logic, which is news in itself. She said regular women should be responsible for protecting themselves from rape and other bad things. You know, because they're adults and have functioning brains with which to take extra safety steps.

Her statement:

A Democratic congresswoman ... Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas) made the comments during an interview with NBC DFW about Harvey Weinstein.

"I grew up in a time when it was as much the woman's responsibility as it was a man's -- how you were dressed, what your behavior was," Johnson told the news outlet.

"I'm from the old school that you can have behaviors that appear to be inviting. It can be interpreted as such. That's the responsibility, I think, of the female. I think that males have a responsibility to be professional themselves."

"I think we also need to start talking about the power that women have to control the situation. There's law enforcement, you can refuse to cooperate with that kind of behavior. I think that many times, men get away with this because they are allowed to get away with it by the women" Johnson said.

In other words, don't follow Harvey Weinstein into a dimly lit closet. Not surprisingly, some people didn't take too kindly to these comments. I'm sure you can guess who those "some people" were.

Quick reminder here -- Eddie did not say you deserve to be raped if you wear short skirts. She's also not saying only women in short skirts have ever been raped. She's simply implying that you should not make yourself an easy target for evil rapists. Here we have a black, Democrat WOMAN saying fellow women owe it to themselves to be responsible for their own protection. Sounds a lot like female empowerment to me. Yet the left is cannibalizing her because reasons (see Leftist Logic: Women Cannot Have Guns for Self-Defense, but Should Have Free Birth-Control).

Feminists are upset because this idea of personal responsibility directly opposes the myth they've been pushing. You know the one I'm talking about (see WATCH: Lena Dunham Shamelessly Misleads About Rape... Again.). The idea that women should be able to get shmammered and pass out naked in an alley without anything bad happening to them. Yes, bad things suck and we hate them. But maybe don't do that. So as to avoid being easily rapable.

As a general rule of thumb, anything feminists like Amy Schumer or Lena Dunham recommend, you should do the opposite of...
