Reporter confronts JD Vance on past foreign policy disputes with Trump, but the VP answers with perfection

NEW: VP JD Vance rips reporter who asked about his current position on the Iran war in an apparent attempt to drive a wedge between him and Trump.
Reporter: "Given your past skepticism of foreign adventurism, are you completely on board with the current war in Iran?"
Vance: "I… pic.twitter.com/SHhoKqRKL0

JD Vance was named fraud czar. Unlike Kamala Harris, being named border czar then claiming she was never "border czar," he's embracing the title. However, though they were there for the launch of Trump's anti-fraud task force, reporters refused to stay on topic. One asked about Vance's perceived foreign policy disagreements regarding going into Iran. Surprising to no one, Vance's answer was perfection.
I disagree with the VP in one regard: I don't think Philip Wegmann was "trying to drive a wedge" between Trump and Vance. If it were a content creator like Kaitlan Collins from CNN, then sure, light her ass up because she's an idiot. I've found Wegmann to be a fair reporter, and it's a legit question.
The vice president won't speak out against his boss's foreign policy initiatives. But there is a lot of criticism on the very online MAGA right about Trump launching a, quote, "endless war." And if you did a Venn diagram between those people and the people who claim everything is a neocon shadow campaign against Vance's presidential run, you'd have a circle.
That said, Vance's response should put the issue to rest.
WEGMANN: Given your past skepticism of foreign adventurism, you were previously critical of the global war on terror...
VANCE: Well, I think one big difference, Phil, is that we have a smart president, where in the past we've had dumb presidents, and I trust President Trump to get the job done and make sure the mistakes of the past aren't repeated.

If you voted for and/or support Donald Trump, his record has earned him the benefit of the doubt. At least for now. Let's revisit things three months in.
Let's say Vance DOES disagree with the president. That's a good thing. A president listens to his trusted advisors and experts, makes the call, and everyone follows the lead. That's how it works. It's not like Democrat vice presidents and cabinet members don't disagree, even vehemently, with decisions a Democrat president makes, but reporters hold on to that info until that president is out of office and it's time to write books.
It also bears repeating that the recent Oval Office powwow was to announce a different, important initiative.
It is a disgrace that American children and families are being defrauded by people who hate this country.
I'm proud to lead the Administration's task force on fraud and I'm thankful to President Trump for entrusting this task to me. pic.twitter.com/vK1NWnKiak

We can put the "Vance has been sidelined"/"Trump ignores Vance"/"The deep state is all in on Marco Rubio" schtick to rest. IF, big IF, there was any disagreement between JD and Trump, it was expressed behind closed doors. Trump called the play. Vance is running the play. That's how it works.
