Democrat Senator: I Opposed Illegal Immigration because I Represented White People
Kirsten Gillibrand is the most inauthentic elected official in Washington DC. She's a less authentic, more scripted version of Hillary Clinton. Since she thinks she's running for president in 2020, the past few years have been spent trying to turn herself into a progressive icon. The rub is there isn't a single issue she hasn't completely flipped on from when she was in Congress. Worse yet, she's starting to get called out on it (see WATCH: Senator Gillibrand Gets Roasted Over #MeToo Hypocrisy by Meghan McCain and Kirsten Gillibrand Denounces Bill Clinton. Gets OWNED for Being a Major Hypocrite…).
Which would explain this 60 Minutes interview. Most likely set up by her expensive PR firm that tells her what to say. Time to get it out all at once; how ashamed she is that she used to have an opposing view point on almost everything.
The part about illegal immigration is particularly topical.
Sharyn Alfonsi: So can you understand President Trump's position on immigration, since you were there?
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand: No. I think his positions are racist.
Sharyn Alfonsi: You were against amnesty, against sanctuary cities. You supported accelerated deportations. You become senator…Why the flip?
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand: I came from a district that was 98% white. We have immigrants, but not a lot of immigrants.
I see. When you have to pander to white people, you're Jeff Sessions in heels.
But when leftists decided that illegals are the most important part of the Democrat coalition this week, then everything is raaaaaaacist.
We should be so lucky to have her as the Democrat standard bearer. This is the kind of lazy pandering we have to look forward to over the next few years as Democrats struggle to regain power. Goodie.
