Guys, what are we doing here?

I never shared a lot of my peers' dislike of late Senator Lindsey Graham. Outside of disagreeing on issues, he always seemed like a decent man who loved his country. It's also not unheard of for a family member to be appointed to finish out a senator's term after they died in office. So I had no issue with Sen. Darlene Graham, the late senator's sister, as a PLACEHOLDER. Then, in a deep red state, we could have a primary to find the best candidate to run as an actual replacement.

Then she decides to run for a full term.

Then she gets endorsed by Trump, who doesn't have the best track record of endorsing conservatives as much as he does of endorsing those who call him handsome.

Then she almost wins the primary, but because of state rules, it went to a runoff between her and Rep. Ralph Norman.

This brings us to the debate last night and a question about Taiwan and the South China Sea.

I’m just going to be honest here; I’m not that informed on national security, so — but I do support the military. My brother was in the Air Force for 33 years...I'm not a polished politician up here. National security is not my thing, not my area of expertise, but I do support the military.

If we are being fair, this is one answer from a debate. It is within the realm of possibility that she blew away her opponent with all of her other answers, and she just fell victim to clip culture.

I doubt it, though.

Republicans have a razor-thin majority in the US Senate, if you can even call it that, given the amount of RINOs who are willing to sell the party out. We can't get our agenda passed even with senators with the knowledge to be in their positions. And Republicans are thinking of replacing Lindsey Graham with his sister, with no experience, no background, no previous positions, and who could make us miss the good old days of a reliable conservative like... Lindsey Graham.

Again. What are we doing here?
